Hello!

I'm Lisa Murphy - a music producer and recording and mix engineer, with over 20 years experience working with independent artists and labels, specialising in working with emerging artists and artist development.

I work out of Blank Studios (where I am also Studio Manager) and my own studio Production Room, both located in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, in the Northeast of England.

I’m most at home when I'm working with emerging artists and helping them to develop their sound. I'm passionate about improving the representation of women and gender minorities within the music industry - so you'll see that a lot of my portfolio demonstrates this work.

I believe in developing a good working relationship with each artist or band that I work with - I think it's really important to get a good understanding of your music and the direction that you would like to take in order to give you the final product that you want. So, I spend time to understand an artist’s approach to song writing, their lyrics, influences and the sounds they would like to create in their music, in order to best provide my support whether that be through recording, mixing, arranging or production.

Working with emerging artists has given me the experience of providing not just production services but also direction in artist development where required by my clients too. 

You’ll regularly hear my production work on the likes of BBC Introducing, BBC local and national radio (Radio 1, BBC 6 Music), Amazing Radio, TV advertising, podcasts and independent record labels as well as significant playlists on your favourite streaming provider!
